Has the United Nations got any teeth left?

The problem as I see it is the U.S. If they would support the U.N. and stop defying it, then it could be a powerful organization. The reality is that the U.S. is the most powerful nation in the world and they know it. Consider the fact that Isreal is in defiance of 65 U.N. resolutions and there is nothing that can be done due to there continued support by the U.S. It is truly unfortunate that a country that preaches freedom and liberty and moral standards and completely ignores all of those things in favor of greed and power, are the ones in charge. Scars the crap out of me.
