A question about pregnancy?

Hi I am 10dpo period has been a no show and I have 1 faint positive HPT! but my cervix is soo soft an low like it would be during my periods is that normal or could it indicate something serious like an impending miscarriage? I see the doctor next week I just wanted to know from experienced individuals please! thanks
