My crush doesn't talk to me much , but i really like him and how will i know if he likes me?

Okay, so now i have this cute boy named James and he doesn't talk to me much but he minds other girls so later this morning (01-13-10) he smiled at me and i smiled back at him and i said hi James and he was like ( nothing happened at all) and after that smiling he walked straight forward to his armchair and also me too and he sits just right behind me and he always minds my other girl clmates but he doesn't mind me at all he just smiles at me and when we were ready to go home i said hi james and he was like ( nothing happened at all) and then he continued sweeping the floor and i was like ( oh well maybe he'll mind me at the school gate) and when me and my friends mecca and mitzi were at the school gate now and we were waiting for james and my friend's crushes ... then when i saw james heading the school gate he said a shyly small voice ( bye) to me and i was like bye james and he just doesn't RESPOND to me at all ,( but why does he talk to me at a shyly small voice???) So please help me guys ... i need too know if he likes me or not!!!!
